Corona virus - It was a day like no other - @privaterowell

It was a day like no other,

The news everywhere was of Corona.

I never thought a virus could be so bad,

It's turned the whole world mad.

People are stockpiling,

The shelves are bare,

No loo roll, no pasta, nor hand sanitizer.

It was a day like no other,

The news everywhere was of Corona.

This day the talk was of a Lockdown,

No more school for my 11 yr old son.

No SATS, no end of year tshirt signing and no dance.

Distancing ourselves from loved ones,

The Corona had spread across the world.

It was a day like no other,

The news everywhere was of Corona.

The virus was attacking more people,

The public still bulk buying the essentials.

New rules for supermarkets put in place,

Two metre rules to keep everyone safe.

It was a day like no other,

The news everywhere was of Corona.

I am a key worker,

I work for a supermarket.

Constant handwashing,

2 metre rule,

Hoping to protect us all.

It was a day like no other,

The news everywhere was of Corona.

The virus is still spreading,

We all still need to stay in.

We all might be getting ratty and bored,

But remember it's to save our world.

Our loved ones will be there to welcome us all,

If we listen and abide by our country's rules.

It was a day like no other,

The news everywhere was of Corona.

The country is still in lockdown,

But people have stopped stock piling.

I'm home schooling my son,

Being taught and teaching all sorts of English and sums.

The time together is what is being treasured most.

Playing and learning has brought us close.
