I want you to see me @ann177345

I want you to see me,

Not just look the other way.

I want you to see the things that matter,

The things I have to say.

I have never been one to stand out among a crowd,

My voice is often silent, rarely ever loud.

I will never be the person who captures someone’s eye.

In fact, I am likely the person that people pass right by.

I want you to see me,

See the goodness that I bring.

I want you to see the other side of me,

One that few have ever seen.

Some say that I tend to wear my heart upon my sleeve,

I hold on tight to others, so perhaps they will not leave.

People call me smart, creative, nice and kind,

But rarely do they take the time to ask what’s on my mind.

I want you to see me,

See the things behind my smile.

I want you to see the scars I carry,

The ones I have held for quite awhile.

It is not easy to be open and share a piece of me,

To let you view the things that few have ever seen.

Fear is a constant companion for the world in which I live,

Although you may not notice, I do my best to give.

I need you to see me,

To truly understand me is the goal.

I need you to see the heart of who I am,

And love my beautiful soul.
