2 paperclips, a rubber band a piece of scrumpled paper
Pockets full of junk I find
All worth something to my mind
Ignore the looks, ignore the shout
“You really must clear these things out”
A downward look, a nervous smile, shoulders hunched, defeated
Come sit with me and you will see you can’t give up just yet
We’ll turn those bits and paperclips into a jumbo jet
What once was lost or overlooked now comes into its own
You can do it, just don’t give up – you see, I’ve always known
