The Organic Poet
Swifts @DeeringRachel
The swifts will leave soon enough,
buffeting black billows, quivers
of release, arrowheads born
to the wind and to roam
as squawking darts
of sky nomads.
I am reminded of endings,
entropy, the fragility of all things
that fade and die with the summer
whilst simultaneously
reeking of life,
when laughter seems to sound
more hollow,
as if there is an echo
of what autumn promises
of the slow faith of winter
in an overrated spring
and soon they are back
and again we begin.

My favourite quote: “Love takes off the masks we fear we cannot live without and know we cannot live within.” James Baldwin
Your one wish for the world: that we loved ourselves and each other more and feared ourselves and each other less.
