To Dream as One
Restless thoughts running wild
going back to simpler days in time.
Mind recalling how we all came together
all for unity, throughout every raging storm
Lying awake, pondering on the day
endless possibilities, each finding its own way.
I dream of a unified world
where we are all free to be ourselves
full of love, kindness, strength and unity.
That is my wish
each night as I fall asleep.
Quinn's Poet of The Month biography
Three words that define you?
Determined, honest caring
Favourite song and why?
Imagine by John Lennon. This song hits to the core of your soul and makes you realize how important everyone is in your life. It makes you realize not to take things for granted, to love.
What does poetry mean to you?
Poetry to me means being able to express myself through words. Sometimes it only takes a few words to get your point across and make a huge impact. Being creative, getting lost in the moment, expressing thoughts for everyone to ponder.
What is your objective as a poet?
My objective as a poet is to get others motivated enough to believe in themselves. I want others to know anything is possible, if you just try. I don’t ever want anyone to feel like they can’t achieve their dreams.
If you could make a phone call to the teenage you, what message would you give?
I would tell myself to be braver and never let anyone tell me I’m not good enough. I would tell myself to believe in my own abilities and never second guess myself. I would want myself to know anything is achievable through hard work and determination.
What are you most proud of as a poet?
I am proud of the compliments I get from others telling me that I have encouraged them to follow their dreams. Dreams are a wish that you’re fulfilling, I tell others never to stop dreaming.
Who is your role model and why?
My role model was my late Grandfather, Earnest. He taught me how to work hard for what I wanted but also try to have fun while doing it. He believed in being honest and not giving up. He never graduated high school, but he instilled in me the importance of learning everything I could. He worked hard but liked to enjoy life and I will always be grateful to him.
If you could offer any advice to a poet just getting started, what would it be and why?
If I could offer advice to any poet getting started it would be to always believe in yourself. Even if it feels like no one else does, your opinion of your capabilities is limitless. Others may judge you, but never give up, keep striving to achieve your goals. Only you can do it.

Follow your dreams, there will be bumps and crossroads along the way, but never stop believing in yourself. For every obstacle, there’s another way around it, if you just search for it. Only you can make your dreams into a reality.
