You Make a Difference @ColbyFrantz

“I just don’t get it”

“I don’t understand this”

“Maybe you aren’t trying hard enough’

“Maybe you just don’t care more than you would admit”

“He doesn’t care about his work”

“His focus isn’t on his studies”

“He is more concerned with laughing, being a jerk, and hanging out with his buddies”

I am in this class again…I guess remedial is my career

With these same kids that are full of shame and blame

This teacher doesn’t care

I wish I could disappear, they can’t even pronounce my name…but I tell them every year

“Welcome to my class!”

“What is your name? So I can get it right”

“Most teachers don’t like me, they say I am full of sass”

“It was rough at home and I didn’t get enough sleep last night”

“I want you to know that I care and it will be different because I have a different view”

“I am never going to get this and school and teachers have been my adversary”

“I don’t know what I want to do, the guidance counselor said I should join the military”

“I understand what you have been though because I have too, but know this doesn’t define you”

“I started college and I wish you could see the trail I am blazing”

“I want to thank you for believing in me”

“Because of you I know what I want to be”

“I always knew you were amazing”

Your favourite quote: “Failure is instructive. The person who really thinks learns quite as much from his failures as from his successes.” ― John Dewey

Your one wish for the world: That we would appreciate teachers like we appreciate doctors. We are all saving lives in our own way.
